As successors to the popular Centrifuge 5424/5424 R, these two new models include everything you loved about the previous models, plus new rotors and software functions to make your everyday work more efficient and enjoyable.

The unique design of the air-cooled Centrifuge 5425 ensures particularly quiet operation for a comfortable working environment. Short runs up to twelve minutes are whisper quiet at an average of just 45 dB(A). These short runs are sufficient for the centrifugation steps of most routinely-used DNA/RNA purification kits. During longer runs, the cooling fan works efficiently to dissipate heat for the remainder of the run.

The improved cooling system of the Centrifuge 5425 R ensures optimal separation results and reliable cooling at 4 °C, even at maximum rotor speed. With a short pre-cooling time of only 8 minutes (~21 °C to 4 °C), the centrifuge is ready for operation when you are.

The 6 different rotors now cover an even wider range of applications, including molecular biology applications such as DNA/RNA or protein purification in 1.5 or 2.0 mL tubes or spin columns, pelleting of bacteria, yeast and cell cultures in 5 mL tubes, and microvolume protocols such as pre/post PCR and qPCR setups in 0.2 mL tubes, 8-well strips or divisible 96-well plates.

This unique rotor solves a problem often encountered when working with MiniPrep Spin Column Kits: Open vessel lids shear off in the elution step. This problem usually occurs because conventional rotors do not provide sufficient support for the open vessel lids during centrifugation. The Eppendorf Kit Rotor has a raised rim on which the vessel lids rest during centrifugation so they do not shear off. From now on, your vessel lids remain where they belong.

Harvesting of bacteria, yeast or cell culture in Eppendorf Tubes^® 5.0 mL, as well as the purification of DNA/RNA and plasmid DNA, becomes so easy with this rotor. The additionally available adapters also allow the centrifugation of 1.5/2 mL tubes as well as HPLC and Cryo Tubes without even changing the rotor.
